UZCHS-CTRC researchers Lynda Stranix-Chibanda, Nyaradzo Mgodi, and Portia Hunidzarira were recently featured in an article posted on AllAfrica.com by Wallace Mawire, where they discuss the first ever HIV vaccine clinical trial that will soon be implemented in Zimbabwe.
Known as HVTN 107, this study will be testing a similar vaccine used in Thailand’s RV144 trial, which showed that it was moderately successful in preventing new HIV infections among vaccinated adults. The study will take place at Seke South CRS in Chitnungwiza starting in June 2015.
